Orthodontic Therapy

This programme is designed for qualified Orthodontic Nurses, Dental Hygienists, Dental Hygiene Therapists, Clinical Dental Technicians who wish to develop their clinical and academic skills and train as an Orthodontic Therapist.

The course teaching is carried out at the Leamington Spa Orthodontic Centre. The centre is housed within a six storey Regency building in the centre of Leamington Spa, 7 miles from the University of Warwick. Its facilities have been developed specifically for teaching and include a fully equipped lecture suite seating up to thirty students, with a camera/video link to a surgery within the building, enabling hands-on style demonstrations of all types of clinical procedures to be delivered to the lecture theatre. A Clinical skills laboratory is also linked to the lecture theatre and surgery. Video-conferencing allows off site links to other similar facilities worldwide. There is a library with an extensive selection of journals and reference books, computer and Internet access. Other facilities include seven fully equipped, computerised surgeries, full digital 3D cone beam and cephalometric and orthopantomograph radiography and clinical photography, a fully equipped on-site orthodontic laboratory with technical support, staff common room and additional support facilities. The Centre has Investors in People accreditation.
